My passion is not only to try to cure, but more to improve the quality of life of those I’m able to care for. I was never one for adrenaline and brief contact with patients, I was always left wanting to know more and wondered about patients long after they left my care. After my community service I embarked on my journey in psychiatry and completed my specialist training at the University of Witwatersrand in 2018. I had the privilege of working at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic hospital as a specialist psychiatrist for 5 years
No matter who you are or what you’re going through, my space is where you’ll be heard and cared for. We might be strangers on the surface, but underneath we’re just friends who haven’t met yet.
Most people are afraid of suffering. But suffering is a kind of mud to help the lotus flower of happiness grow. There can be no lotus flower without the mud.
It’s like growing lotus flowers. You cannot grow lotus flowers on marble. You have to grow them on the mud. Without mud you cannot have lotus flowers. Without suffering, you have no way to learn how to be understanding and compassionate.
